Tom Brady vs Eli Manning

Click on this, you will not be disappointed. A friend showed me this song. He explained how Matt Corby was almost made fun of during the Australian Idol competition. He became third but not a crowd favorite. He was #3 in 2011 charts in Australia and he has come a long way.

You rarely hear any unique voices, unique songs and more importantly anything unplugged or acoustic nowadays. So kudos to him for making such a wonderful song.

We are Joe Paterno - Penn State

I came to USA in 2007 August. One of the first places I went to was a doctor’s office. He was excited that I was going to start school in a week and even more excited when he heard that I was going to start Penn State. He started talking about this beautiful man called Joseph Vincent Paterno. He was not an alumni. He just loved our traditions, our coach, our modest football. He almost wished he was a student at Penn State.

I knew about professional football. Being from Turkey, I learned about professional football as much as possible but I was a newbie when it came to college football. I went to my first game and one of the kids next to me said “they call him old and say that he should be fired but you know what, even the people who say that he should go and jump off a cliff and die for him. We love him that much and what he has done for this school”. Oh man I wish he was right. We all felt terrible after the scandal in our school. However, everyone was quick to forget how Joe Paterno devoted his life to this school financially. However, he gave much more. He was the reason for many sponsorships, people choosing Penn State, our library, our football program rising and god knows how many other great things.

You know what really pissed me off? We forgot what is important and that is family. We got caught up in what other people thought. Criticism is fine but this was way out of line. They had to go with the most iconic person in this school’s history and use anything against him and school. It was making them sick to their stomach that they could not find anything bad about our program for years. I will say it again and again that I wasn’t ever proud of what happened. It embarrassed me and all my friends but Joe was just as sad like the rest of us for everyone that was affected. His health worsened so quickly when he couldn’t hold on to Penn State anymore. It is not a surprise to me. Isn’t it ironic that these innocent and angelic people of media now say stuff like “Poor Joe Pa he is sick now”. They didn’t have a problem with it when he was so upset at his home because it was dramatic and it was what was selling for over a 2 month span. I think to myself sometimes “Man, these politicians, doctors, media, cops, athletes are so corrupt”. Woww, that is a long list huh? No, it is just that there are so many bad people out there. Don’t take these people take away your heroes from you. Don’t let these people corrupt the rest of us and take away people like Joe Paterno away from us. I wish as Penn State community we made our own decisions and didn’t let other people interfere everything this much. We gave it to them though. I know why people were mad all over the world but the fingers were pointed at the wrong people. We let other people decide for our community. Sometimes you learn it the hard way. When he had no hair left on his head going through that chemo, with a pelvic fracture he still said he wished it didn’t end like this. He added that he was happy for having many kids and grandkids.

I hope we made you proud and happy and gave you something that you will forever and maybe 1 of a millionth of what you gave to this school I just want to finish with one last memory. During THON 2009, we ha more respond from the crowd when Joe Paterno arrived than anything I have seen from an American crowd. It was even more than when the money(that years total raised money for the fight against pediatric cancer) was announced 15 minutes later. I was dealing with security and when we left right before the money was announced I met him in person. Right now I wished I gave you a hug and took a picture that I could look at forever. I am at least proud that I was one of those who stood by you when all this happened and forever will.
